The Staunton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (SRHA) is a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, created through Title 36 of the Code of Virginia.  The SRHA was organized on March 9th, 1961, and it has been in continual operation since that date.

Our Mission

The (SRHA) provides safe and affordable housing to members of its community to enhance quality of life, promote economic opportunity and offer a suitable living environment free from discrimination.  Through commitment to staff excellence, SRHA is dedicated to treating all participants with dignity and respect. 

Empowering Communities through Affordable Housing

The SRHA provides high-quality, affordable housing solutions to the residents of Staunton, VA.  SRHA owns and manages 150 RAD PBRA Multi-Family units, offering comfortable living spaces. Through HUD's Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, SRHA ensures that individuals and families have access to safe and secure housing options.  Our commitment to community empowerment drives us to create inclusive and thriving neighborhoods.  The Staunton Housing Corporation (SHC) is the 501 (c)(3) non-profit arm of the SRHA.  The primary purpose of the SHC is to support the mission and the programs of the SRHA, and to further the economic development of the community, including the elimination of conditions of blight and deterioration, and the promotion and assistance of economic and housing opportunities.  The SHC is recognized as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) through Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
