APPLICANT INFORMATION

  • RENT

    Under the Rental Housing Integrity Improvement Project (RHIIP) initiative, HUD is responsible for ensuring that the proper subsidy is provided to households through its rental assistance programs.  A family’s expected gross income determines their eligibility for assistance and the rent a family or individual will pay.  The anticipated income, subject to any exclusions or deductions the household will receive during the next twelve (12) months, is used to determine the household's rent.  Income eligibility must be determined before an applicant can be approved as a tenant.

    Rent Formula

    The rent a household will pay is the highest of the following amounts:

    • 30% of the household's monthly adjusted income;

    • 10% of the household's monthly income;

    • Welfare rent or welfare payment from agency to assist family in paying housing costs; OR

    • $25.00 Minimum Rent

  • UTILITIES

    Our properties have individually metered units.  Utility costs are paid directly to the landlord (SRHA).

    Water, sewage, and trash are included.

  • SMOKE-FREE PROPERTY

    Our properties are smoke-free.  No smoking of any kind (tobacco, e-cigarettes, vapor devices, or any other substance) is permitted in any unit or on any part of the property grounds.  Applicants must be willing to refrain from smoking while on the property.  If applicants wish to smoke, they must travel off the property grounds to do so.
